18" tire choice

I just bought a 2006 Limited V8 4Runner. I have the 18" rims and would like to put bigger tires on it. Will 285-60-18 fit. If there is minor rubbing on tight turns thats ok for me. I don't plan on a lift at this point.

So I have been looking at different threads and I see alot of 17" rims with bigger tires. Looking at the diameter the 285-60-18 are just a bit smaller than 275-70-17 that alot of people have put on. I don't see any mention of rim width anywhere and I know the 285-60-18 are going to be wider. Has anyone put 285-60-18 on or similar with no rubbing? Hope to hear some feedback. Need to get tires soon.

I got a set of 285-60-18 but they haven't been making any noise so far...

Thanks for the info. Just picked up used set of stock tires but when I replace them I will go with the 285's
