So I just bought a 1988 4 runner with a 3.0L with a blown head gasket and i know the history with the 3.0s. I would like to 3.4L swap it and was wondering how hard that is to do? Also how hard is it to rebuild the 3.4 motor! I want to build it with a cam and bore it 30 over, but wanted to get peoples opinion? Money isn't really a big deal I'm going to do it right! Its a project and eventually i will sas swap it! if you have any ideas or suggestions i would love to here them!

"How hard it is" depends on your skills and tools.
Have you ever swapped or rebuilt an engine before ?
There's plenty 3.0 to 3.4 swap info on the Web if you look.
One good thing is that the bell housing bolt patterns are the same so the 3.4 will bolt up to your trans.

I'm going to move your post to the Classics section where you should get more response.
