1991 T4R parking break repair cost

I have a 1991 4-Runner 4wd manual transmission and the parking break cable snapped. From what I understand, there is the main front cable that connects to the handle and two other cables (a right and left) that split off to the rear tires. I figured I should just replace all three since they have probably never been replaced before.

Looks like I have to special order these cables from the Toyota dealership. The front cable is around $80, and each of the rear cable that split off are $90-$110 each! The price seems a little ridiculous. Is this correct? Any idea if I can grab these cables somewhere else for less?

Ya you can get the rear ones from napa but the front BRAKE cable is dealer or used only

Personally id say don't replace if it not broken or get it from a junkyard if they are really that pricey. Normally I prefer OEM/denso for parts but a parking brake cable isn't anything special. You could prob even use some heavy duty fishing line or twine if you wanted (but don't). Or really, buy some steel wire and use that... If you thread any of that shit through the original sleeve I think it'd work. Second piece of advice: don't listen to anything I said.

Well I was using a few strands of hemp rope twisted together and held at the end with twist ties, but they kept rotting out every time it rained. Maybe I should upgrade to some 80lb braided fishing line...
