Having an idle problem

Basic info...just rebuilt the engine a year ago...has about 7k miles

Had a CEI was a code 71...changed egr valve and diaphragm next to it...just cleaned the MAF and changed airfilter

When I cleaned the MAF and changed the airfilter...it seem to run better but its when I come to stop where it idles real rough

Problem is...it idles real rough when stopped...runs gun feels good but idle goes up and down too at times

My mechanic says from his snap on meter its running lean..and may have a vacuum leak...

What say you guys...I sure could use the help

Thanks

Robert

Sounds like what mine was doing when I had a giant crack in my intake tube, between the AFM and throttle body! Check your intake tube for dry rot and cracks! (Photos in my build thread)

There are a couple things you can spray around vacuum connections and injectors to see where you are leaking. You can also try a smoke test. Cheap first effort is soapy water in a spray bottle. A quick search will probably identify which products to spray and not blow something up. If you smoke cigars and can shield the top of the motor from the breeze from the fan, you can be like Clint Eastwood and maybe find the leak that way.
