1998 Compared to 2003 Front Row Seats

I have a 1998 Toyota 4Runner and the driver side seat cover is going. I found a site on web that make custom leather seat cover but they said 2003 front seat cover will not fit 1998. it is possible but hard to believe the seat 2003 seats have had such a big change. can anyone help me?

2003 is the next generation in 4runner. 2002 is the last of ours. Why dont ou believe its way different, they are essentially two different vehicles with the same name.
