1999 4 Runner LIMITED ECU

I have a 1999 4 Runner LIMITED, Please help me find the body ECU.

its located behind the removable panel on the drivers side kick panel, next to the steering wheel.

That's the 4WD ECU.

The MAIN ECU is located behind the glove box. Drop the glove box, take the three bolts out of the top of the glove box, move the air tube, and it's right there.

yup its above the glove box. Behind the black panel and a few 10mm bolts. Two Phillips head screws hold it in. It will have the engine name and transmission on it.

The Body ECU is the the Fuse box.

There is a sub body ecu in the rear door too.

There is also a door light, delay, key chime ecu in the instrument panel.

WTF IS the body ECU? I know there's ones for the engine/trans, 4wd, ABS, and SRS, but WTF is one needed for the body for??

The body control module controls many of the the non-powertrain functions. As I said in post #2, it's behind the kick panel to the left of the steering wheel.

This is what needs to cleaned on yours. You still have swamp gunk in it. You should be able to get you door locks working again along with the alarm.

Take it out, wash it with some distilled water and spray down with some wd40.



Fuse box would be a box full of fuses with some relays thrown in for good measure.:lookout:
