1999 Transmission Valve Body Ugrade

I have a 1999 4runner and am wanting to get a transmission valve body upgrade performed by IPT. However, IPT requires you send them your valve body. My rig is my daily driver and I really can't have it out of service for a week +/- at this time. I was thinking of going to a junk yard and pulling a valve body off a donor. I have heard the valve bodies are year specific ... 96-98 transmissions have different valve bodies and number of solenoids than the 99-00, and the 01-02 have different valve bodies than the 96-98, and the 99-00.

Is this correct? If so, I assume I can only use a valve body from a 99-00 model.

This is correct.

The 99-00 definitely have a different valve body than the 96-98 but I believe they still only have 3 solenoids.

The 01/02 are much different since they do not have a kick down cable.

Just for reference, the 96-00 transmissions are interchangeable even though the valve bodies are slightly different.
