My 2. 88 diesel Surf and 84 diesel landcruiser.

Used to live in NZ and Australia. Moved back to Ireland and brought with me the surf from NZ and the landcruiser from Oz. Had a small collection of 80 4x4 Toyotas when I was there but choose them for the rare 2tone colour of the surf and the georgeous rootbeer brown of the hj60

I need to take more pictures. I should probably start a thread as this is my first 1st Gen and I have a lot of questions for fixing minor things.

Land Cruisers are my first love and my 1977 FJ-40 sports factory wheels widened to 7" (wish they were 8") with 35x12.50R15 BFG KM2s.

My 1986 PU had these on it and I liked the look.

When I got the 89, I traded my white truck for it and made a deal to retain my Land Cruiser wheels and caps. The chrome caps help with the factory chrome accents. I rarely add chrome on purpose, but I don't see it as a sin.

Love the 40s steel/caps. Never saw it before on an 4runner.( Used to have them on an 83 dual can diesel) Looks better with the smaller wheels on the white truck.

That's a great looking runner, how many miles are on it? It looks super clean. Also do you live in sebastopol by chance? the surroundings in your pics look a lot like my home town.

Stripes look great! James Dean Creations? Were they difficult to put on?

Yes, James Dean stripes. My guy that put them on said they weren't hard to do and that they were of good quality. I always thought the 87 / 88 factory stripes were the best looking.

3rd 4runner. My wife hates me.

So, I wasn't even looking for this thing. Like. At all. I was surfing around the web, looking for a decent 3.4 donor victim for my 91 bucket runner, even though i am about to get a 2002 taco but I love that truck. So I'm searching, I find a 99 v6 T4R $1200 in bowling Green KY. Then I debate with myself. And I search more I find the 1st Gen that I never thought I'd want." I mean yeah they are "cool" I've seen some youtubes about em, But I don't get it, the coolness of the cAr. I never really wanted one. I've got TWO 91's already. One is just a part car, bought it with the rear end gone out. Still haven't done ANYTHING with it, except steal the hood and butcher the paint on said hood to make it beige. I digress. I end up getting it, looks neat. And for less j was going to pay for the donor, I'll just put off a 3.4 swap for next year or the year after that" I got it. Obviously..
man, I've had It for less than 7days. Engine needs work, tranny "needs" swaped. /im a 5spd kind of guy/ and it's got a little bit of a rusty hole goin on in the bed.
Needs tlc. For sure. After looking through this thread for the past 3days. I am otbing short of FLIPPING EXCITED AS A SQUIRREL IN A BAG OF PEANUTS about this thing. Great things to come. Hopfully.

Any idea what the name of that color is? I love it. I can't decide if I'm going to repaint mine factory red or go with ford's race red plus factory 87-88 stripes......:shrug:

I'm not sure. The PO painted it. He said that he used the factory paint code for the respray. I will say it definitely looks more 'red' than the original paint but not by much.
