Ruby Tuesday's Maiden Assignment Successful
My stock 86 4Runner successfully accomplishes her first assignment- take us from San Diego to Bunny Flats trailhead/parking of Mount Shasta and back.
Climb successful, too. Clouds rolling up the mountain, but 40 mph winds from opposite direction kept them at bay. We almost crawled during gusts but made it. Two days later, while driving back from Crater Lake, Oregon, dark clouds covered the mountains. People up there must not have been happy campers.
Below, my cousin is on the phone with roadside service for rental bleeding-edge Prius, while old-school RT patiently waits.
Apparently, the Prius, like many modern/high-tech vehicles whose designers are always trying to prove something, has a stupid feature that shuts down the system when car is left on an incline with the parking brakes OFF. The rental did not have an owner's manual and a passer-by with a Prius said that even if you had a manual you would not understand it. Tow truck driver had to go through a reset routine to get it running again!
Another stupid feature: While in reverse, annoying beeper alerts driver that he is backing up, while outside nothing alerts people behind the car that the quiet car is backing up! DUH!

I have the Black Magic 12 inch/125# springs but am holding off since I saw the 3-gen Zuks.
May we know which year? Rear springs? No-cut no weld?
If your runner is stock with no torsion bar adjustment, What are resulting heights for your front and rear? Someone said rear wheelwell lip/rim should be 1.5 inches closer to wheel rim than front wheelwell lip/rim.
