Got a visit from an FJ50 (1970?) owned by a friend.... figured i share a pic or two as an excuse to post some more recent of MY OWN '88! I've owned an 86 Xtra cab, an 85 & 87 4runner (both 5 spd!). My 88 ( over 400k mi) is my fave tho and i LIKE the 3.0!

Well I have been hiding in the shadows for years now. I got my 4Runner last Christmas as a complete surprise! I have wanted one of these cars for the past three years! glad to finally be apart of it all!

1988, 22R-E motor, auto trans, 4WD.
Virtually factory stock. I keep it in good shape mechanically, as it's my daily ride, as well as my woods truck.
235/75/R15 Goodyear Wranglers. Good in sand, mud and the highway. Took the old gal up to Virginia yet again last summer. Ran it 70 mph on the Interstate, got 22 MPG. Handles the mountain trails with no stress up in SW VA, in the Jefferson NF and Mt Rogers.
300 watts sound system too, so I can really rock my Classical music and my Brazilian Jazz tunes.
