Just thought I'd add this to the gallery. Good buddy of mine just picked up this '84 runner for $1500! Needs some motor work though (distributor, carb) and a tranny (that we already have). Please don't ask me about the color scheme! Was like that when he bought it but it does have a good set of 38's on new steelies, dual case adapter (minus the first case) and 30 spline Longfields so I'd say he got his money's worth already.

That IS a good deal. Drag him over here once he's got it running.

Bought this from a farm down in the middle of nowhere. Have not seen it yet but....

1985 Sold Axle Turbo Diesel 120K Miles. Even had the original cassette radio.

How could i say no. Will start a thread on its refurbishment when i get it. I have OME lift, decals and a white softtop waiting for it. Just hoping that it wont need a repaint.

Nice to know about the 4 Runner classic,its really a nice one.Its an old one or first generation and awesome in look.I know about its interior which is pretty awesome and long life.I like your submitted pictures.

First post on T4R, but have been on tacomaworld for quite a while. Picking this up when I get back form work in a week or so. There is a little story behind this. My first truck was an 87 SR5 extended cab that my dad had swapped a 302 from a 95 mustang into. Two months after getting my license I was hit by a drunk driver and my truck was totaled, we got it back from insurance and sold it to a guy in Elko with a 4Runner. Fast forward 13 years and the opportunity has presented itself to pick that 4Runner up for a pretty reasonable price, its an 85 and the swap looks just as flawless as when my dad did it. It has been sitting for about 7 years, and needs the tranny put back together, other than that it'll require some minor maintenance but all in all I'm pretty stoked about the project. After its back on the road it'll definitely be getting some bumpers, sliders, suspension, and steering upgrades. Here are some pictures.

Nice & clean! Strong, classic engine, yet it seems to leave more room around it compared to the 3.0! You can tow a plane with that.
