Toyota pickup with a 70's Chinook put on the back, originally they were 2wd and on the 70's Hilux, but a lot of people have started doing this to them. I found two last year and had dreams of building them.

Looks like a Chinook. The Sunraders had a one-piece glass across the front.
I wonder if that's custom though, or at least been reglassed, because that's really clean and kinda modern looking.

The camper above is a custom job. The camper itself is from a 70s hilux. The taillights are a dead give away.

When I said "1st Gens", I was referring to its body style in relation to the 4Rnr. My bad. But actually it's a 5th Gen Hi-Lux. :nod:

Love my 85 4runner. looked along time for her and spent a chunk of change on what I thought was a decent reman engine and install. It only lasted 1 1/2 years. Has been sitting for the last 8 yrs....... Do I try again with a better quality reman or should I cut my losses and sell......

I followed the DIY I found online. Its a bestop bikini for an FJ40, the rear hoop is bent from a piece of conduit, painted and covered in foam pipe insulation and the front mount I made from a piece of 2" flat stock that's bent to fit and welded mounting tabs on it. I still need to finish the rear bumper then start on the front.

Just picked up my dream 4runner! 1987 sr5 5 speed loaded with all the options: cruise power everything, a/c works, and only 168k original miles on the clock. Currently working at my friends ranch and will post up a thread once I get home.

Just picked up this running 89 Runner for 900.00. She's a little rusty in the rear but it'll be getting fixed. She'll be a full on wheeler only, can't wait to start on it... Fixed a bunch of terrible wiring, stripped out the full interior as she's getting new seats and I'm going to plastidip the dash/trim. Going to sheet metal the doors and much more...

new to this forum, but not new to Toyotas or 4Runners - We just got a 2006 4Runner, and I've had this 89 4Runner about 10 years....
