Nice trucks! Light duty only on those fiberglass gutters. I've ripped those from packing too much weight on rough roads.

I ordered a rhino rack track mount set up today. Not really looking forward to drilling holes in the top but I think it's the best long term option. Waterproofing the tracks is my current research topic.

The info at the end doesn't mention any suspension upgrades/repairs - but under the hood you have an EMU bumper sticker. Is the suspension rebuilt or original?

Yes I removed the chrome rocker panel trim instantly after i purchased the truck. Wanted to make sure that there was no rust under the chrome!

The vehicle does not have any suspension upgrades. However, the rear leafs have been replaces with OEM leafs. The stickers are there for show but I was planning on doing an OME lift eventually if I kept the truck.

Yes the truck has been meticulously maintained its entire life.

May I ask if removing the rock guard in front of the rear wheels cause any rock damage at all?

LOL! Removed the chrome rocker and wheel trims on mine as well. Heck, even Cadillacs do not have those.

I was hesitant about removing the rear quarter rock guards but I feel that it cleans the truck up a ton. Gravel roads have cause some minor rock chips in this area but nothing major. Was thinking of doing a clear 3M in these spots to keep it as clean as possible.

Really having second thoughts about selling Casper these days......

Yah looking back on it now it makes a lot of sense to own a club. The least expensive theft protection you can have, after owning a manual transmission ha-ha. Honestly though I just really believed that Bellingham Wa was a lot safer than this. I have lived here for five years now, only once have I had shit stolen out of my truck, and it was because I had the top off. (****er stole my friends pipe)
A huge fear of mine is that my insurance company is gonna hella low ball me. Then after that finding a nice one isn't gonna be a small task. For the past day I have looked all over the internet and have found MAYBE four that were as nice or nicer than mine for sale.

Any updates from your insurance company? Bummer to hear she was stolen I was a fan of how clean your T4R was.

News update, truck got found! It was found over next to Lake Padden, out in front of someones house. So now things at are wrong with it.
Ripped of some of my front window trim
They must have hit something, it pulls to the left.
They backed into something. The bumper is all messed up and so is the passenger rear side panel and the rear hatch has moved a little.
Pretty sure the starter is messed up, very loose.

So right now I have looked into fixing/ restoring my truck and it will just cost too much to make it worth while.

So I am gonna file an insurance claim and see what they will do for me. However I am now in the market for another 1st 4Runner. So if anybody here has a turn key SR5 contact me!

What tire size does she have now? Looks like you still have the rear-end sag.
BTW, I have a pair of front corner light housings I d not need. They're have black trim, however. If you need them, you can have the pair for $10 plus shipping. Or I might happen to be in OC sometime this weekend and holiday season.

A T-Channel Track-based roof rack is good for fiberglas because it will distribute the load better, and it allows some flexibility on what and how to mount things up there.

I used standard screws through holes that completely penetrated the Fiberglas, and used thin rubber gasket between track and fiberglas and filled screw hole and thread with silicone sealant. Screw head also went on top and nuts below, in the cabin - oriented like and umbrella so better for water proofing.. Where there are double-wall fiberglass, I cut nylon bushings to compress against the top layer and washer below that to compress the lower layer.

Please watch out where you drill the mounting holes. A few notes on locating mounting holes for the rear mentioned on my post here.

Good afternoon all. I am loving seeing the pics of all of the 1st Gen T4Rs on the site. Makes me miss my old one even more. It was an Blue/Black 1986 that I sold to a kid back around May of 2002. Here are three of the limited photos I still have of it.

I would love to find out if anyone on this forum owns my old one. Without having the VIN number anymore, can anyone advise what would be the best information that I can provide on the site to find out if anyone on here owns it? It is possible that it no longer exists, since I note it hasn't gone through a California smog check since May of 2006.

Thank you in advance, and I look forward to hearing from anyone that may have any suggestions.

This is my 1987 Turbo SR5 before I bought it. I need to get some pics take and uploaded of it. It now has a Trail Gear rear bumper, new tires and a few other exterior things. It's super clean and has just over 110K miles on the vehicle, less than 20K on the motor. I'm in the process of removing the a340h auto trans and gonna swap in a 5spd.

Finally got a break from school to get to beat on the 4runner at Windrock in Tennessee. It proved to be an excellent jeep recovery vehicle. Sadly no cool pictures to show as my friend is useless with a camera.

We ran 15 and then a bunch of medium trails the first day. The second day we went to the north side of the park and did 72, 54a (devil's elbow), and 54b. I seem to destroy a body panel every time I go to Windrock.

This is 54a. Every trail was soaking wet, with little waterfalls coming down them.

Super clean pic man. Looks like 0 rust at all. Sliders and front bumper look great.

He's not my brother, my brother used to have a red 1st gen like your old one. Casey's name on here was DOUS and he did trade his 3rd gen for the JK. The jeep was having an oil problem all Saturday, but we seemed to fix it once he got home.
