Well I am excited to say that I just got this 1987 4Runner yesterday! It needs some tlc but it has great potential.

There's a guy selling those on eBay.

The badges are new and are backsprayed like an old guitar amplifier faceplate would be.

They don't have the 3d impression that the original badges have.

Yes, they are the ones on E-bay. I've not found any other source for them. You'd probably have to compare them to the originals to tell that they aren't the originals, but my originals are about 3/4th gone and I haven't seen any perfect originals for years.

You bet!I will be starting a build thread soon, going to get rid of the body lift and go with 33 x 10.50. Want to do an overland rig.

This is the seller I purchased them from. Mine came mounted to a refurbished B-pillar. They seem to be good quality and were shipped quickly. I don't see a relisting for the B-pillar and emblem, but this is the link to the emblems.

I saw a thread on yotatech with a method to repaint the originals. They removed the old paint and used black testers gloss enamel in a spray can. For the gold they used krypton gold and silver leafing pens and then sanded with 1000 grit. They came out looking really nice!

thats what i'm looking to do. I saw the same thread, i can't justify paying $100 for some emblems.

I have a much easier process. I used to do "custom" badge emblems for guys on the Ram forum. Long story short, I pour a dyed epoxy in.

I'll do a short writeup when the time comes for the 4runner.

Not going to litter a toy forum with this stuff, but you get the idea
