We took the 4Runner to the OBX last week. My son has done the Zuk mod and cranked the front. He took off the front valence (temporarily). He added a CB and a magnetic dorky antenna. We had a cold stormy day and drove the 14 miles up the beach to the NC/VA line. The fence in the background is the state line. The VA side is a sanctuary (Back Bay Refuge I think?) so no driving on the beach there. There were very few people on the beach. We endured a huge storm but what a fun time.

Nice! Would love to see OBX someday. I have a thing for islands or peninsulas.
If he cranked the T-bar, that means the rear was lifted above stock? By how much? What spring did you use? 12-inch Black Magic at 125-pounds per inch gave me stock height.

For the Zuk mod we cut down 14" Jeep springs that cost $10 on eBay. They seemed to have been taken off a brand new Jeep. Cut them to 12" and it lifted the 4Runner about 2". I took before and after pictures but for some reason I can't get them off my phone. He cranked the fronts until he felt it was level. I had no involvement so I'm not sure how much but I think he said "all the way."
The OBX is nice but it's awfully developed at this point. It's 40 miles so there are some less developed areas. Carova, where I took these pictures was the last place you could drive on the beach with no permit. The town council just passed a law that beginning this summer you have to have a parking permit to stop there. I'm not sure what it will cost.

Yeah sounds like what the 14-inch, 100 pound/inch Black Magic Springs would do; 2-inch lift.
Nice cup holders AND shifter boot (been holding off on getting new ones)!
I would relocate those switches if I were you; they attract spilt coffee, soda or beer.

Dragged this rusty ole girl home the other day for a buddy (guy in the drivers seat) Really tugged at the heart strings, white just like my last one. had 3 frozen breaks but winched it on to the trailer. Original plan for it was to pull the motor/drive train for his other truck.. but we may beat on this one for the summer and see how it goes. The under side is VERY rust. Has been sitting in the dirt/tall weeds since 2005.
