Hi folks! Kamakura Kid typing at you from Seattle. I did an initial post in the general discussion side, but figured that since I'll be spending most of my time here in the 1st Gen side, it would be worth posting here as well. No good pix, unfortunately, due to some recent computer failures. I'll take some tomorrow or so and post here.
I've had my 87 SR5 22RE (black with silver wallpaper) since 1991, but since early 1996 have spent most of my time stationed overseas with Uncle Sam's canoe club. I only recently came back to Seattle to be reunited with my truck. Since then it has been an extensive repair list, sitting around all those years (with only occasion use wherever I came back on leave or temporary duty) certainly wasn't kind to the truck.
It's certainly been a faithful ride until all these recent problems, though. Been up and down the West Coast several times, pretty much boxed the 48 contiguous states, and one additional cross country round trip. Odo rolled over 200K a couple weeks back.
Well, hopefully everything that is going to break has broken, so I'll be able to concentrate on mods and such.
I have very little experience off roading, have only used the front end on dirt roads and snowy roads, so if any of you off roading veteran types in the Seattle area wouldn't mind having a newbie tagging along, please let me know.
