1st Gen. T4R Wave!!!

So down here in Charleston, SC there are a sh@t ton of Jeeps (including my wifes), so when I'm driving it I wave at all the jeeps I pass. But, b/c every other car seems to be a Jeep it kinda looses its luster and gives you carple tunle.

However, when I drive my '87 T4R (my DD) and pass another 1st Gen. T4R I get as gitty as a school girl as I wave. There's only like half a dozen of us is the area, so I tend to wave at the same ppl, but it's still pretty cool. Even this morning I got some what of a "nod of approval" from a guy in a 2nd Gen. Yota Pick Up.

Just thought I'd share that...

I see maybe 1 T4R first gen every other month if that I see a few first gen pickups a week but, they are the same ones.

I do give the wave and am like you about seeing other first gens:girl:

The newer 4runner and FJ guys will sometimes chace me down to get a better look

Yeah, there are only five (including mine) 1st Gen. T4Rs down here. Three reds, a white, and a grey/blue. We have tons of pick ups though, number one hunting truck in SC, haha.

I had a guy in a '08 Sand Storm Tan, Trail Teams, FJ follow me to the house one day just to BS with me about old skool vs. new skool Yotas, haha.

I looked at so many 1st Gen 4Runners before buying one that my three kids are doing the "punch buggy" thing when we see one. There are two that live kind of near me and they are owned by teen aged guys. I do wave if I'm in mine.

I run into the occasional beat to hell 4runner out and about. However when I'm at the beach or parks around here I've run into a few really clean 1st gens. Anytime I do it's as if we are obligated to BS for a while.

i got a bunch of guys at the warehouse next to where i work. one with a 90 2door! one early 80's truck, couple of 2nd, 3rd gens, 4th gens, tacomas, fj's you name it... ...i dont even get the "nod"... jealous most likely.

if i drive my volvo though... my arm gets tired from all the waving... ... what gives ?
