just joined and don't plan on posting all that much but figured I'd at least do the intro.
I had a 95 4 runner plsin white (I miss the tailgate) and a 99 Limited in "Desert Dune Metalic" that I leased new. I've been kicking myself since I turned that back in but couldn't justify the buy out price they wanted to let me keep it. I loved that thing though. It was a tough choice as the Jeep at the time had a nicer engine but the rear window going down for the dogs was impossible to beat for me.
Since that time life and finances have changed considerably. Got married (I think she married me for that 99 4Runner), 2 kids, and still carting around dogs but now only 2 instead of 3. I am currently driving a very nice Blue Raptor (2013) with many options and I have a couple of other toys scattered around too. At the MI Cabin there is a 200 Cherokee Classic lifted 3.5" and a nice winch etc. This thing is referred to as the "crappy jeep" as it has the sagging head liner, electric bugs that you must learn to live with, and the tail gate won't open except about 1 time every 3000 tries. It last opened at the start of summer this year - I am hoping the next time I will have time to look into it. I also have a fun car (2007 SVT Shelby GT500 convertible in triple black) that is heavily modified and a hair over 900 HP and mostly street legal. I like cars and have had a number of them over the years but I still miss that 99 4 Runner.
I am currently considering potentially trading the Raptor (It's a big SCREW cab) and going back to the 4 Runner. I still think the 99 body style is the best looking but I am starting to like the newer version too. I was very interested in the TRD stuff but must admit as I have researched I have become a little disappointed as I really want the sunroof. Say what you will hard core offroad guys - I love putting the rear window down and opening the Sunroof and letting the air flow and blow dog hair out the back instead of into the front. I have had no noise or leak issues and for me the Sunroof is a must have. I am hoping to learn more about people's thoughts on the TRD Pro as well as the Trail Premium as I am leaning that way right now for the Sunroof. a small lift and some rims/tires and I think i can get what I want.
