This is a new truck and motor for me. It idles around 1000 when I first start it. Sometimes after it warms up I can restart a couple times and it may drop down to around 700. Usually its pretty happy to sit at 1k.
The second issue is a bogging down and temporary loss of power at around 2500 rpm. I can downshift (manual) and rev through it and when I up shift past 2500 all is well.
What I have done so far.
-cap and button (cracked and worn)
-plugs and wires (unknown age)
-cleaned IAC (not too bad actually)
-replaced TPS (even though the old one checked out via voltmeter)
-cleaned MAF (not dirty that I could see)
-cleaned tb (fix for sticking gas pedal)
-replaced a couple of rotten vacuum lines
-replaced PCV (just plain nasty)
-replaced leaking water pump
-cleaned battery terminals
There is no CEL. Truck has 250k miles on it. Motor runs smooth with an occasional burble. Doesn't burn oil. Getting around 20 mpg. Everything I have done so far I chalk up to basic repairs and maintenance.
I don't want to get into a habit of throwing parts at it so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
