I've heard of rolling back the odometer, but some folks are so proud of these 3rd gens I wonder if people don't run up the odometers.

Stuff like this makes me glad I got a 3rd gen though. Some folks think I'm nuts buying a vehicle with over 200k on it. I just tell them it's a Toyota, it's just now broken in.

If that was original owner then they had to do good maintenance to keep it going that long so it's probably in better shape than many with 200K.

Damn! I bought mine last year around this time with ~230K miles with the goal of hitting 300K but 600K is mind blowing!! Gotta love these 3rd gens!

30,000 gallons or 3.3 tanker trailers of fuel @20MPG
$85k in fuel at $2.85 average over last 17 years
120 oil changes @5k miles
20 sets of spark plugs @30k miles
10 sets of tires @60k miles
7 Timing belts @ 90k miles

600,000 miles is 24 trips around the earth.
600,000 miles is to the moon, and back, and halfway back to the moon again.

That 4Runner has seen some things most cars never even dream of... And it still looks really clean

Excellent condition

Looks to be in surprisingly good condition, except for the roadrash on the front bumper. Worth a look at $1500-1800, just for the novelty of having a 600000 mile truck. And it if died, part it and make your money back.

I just want to know what kind of oil he ran in the motor. Original transmission and converter??? I have 263,000 on my 2001. It still drives really good and looks really good. The factory paint is still in damn good shape.

Any car can hit 600k if you drive enough and replace enough parts. I could care less about maintenance history on that 4Runner if I were to buy it, because obviously somebody paid for it to get to 600k. I'm just more curious about what major components were replaced. Someone liked this thing. It's even sitting on stock size Michelins - that right there shows that somebody gave a shit.
