I found this searching through CL. Is it a good deal or stay away?

that thing was clearly wheeled hard, the dents on the bumpers are from hitting trees. And the missing rug and intrior might be from flooding it a few times?

most id offer is 2,500 if you have time for a project !

I am suprised to see all these ENC guys on here. Just recently picked up my T4R in ENC off of autotrader and LOVE IT! Been driving a Z71 for about 7 years but before that had a 92 Ext Cab SR5 Pickup 3.0/Auto. Loved the truck, hated the motor issues I had with the 3VZE.

I was born in Kinston, lived in an even smaller crinkle on the map called Jason until I was 9. We used to go to LaGrange all the time, that was the "big city" to me when I was growing up. LOL
Living in Raleigh now, but plan on moving to Bend Oregon in a year or 2.

I went and looked at that exact 4 runner 2 days ago.

It has basically been ridden hard and put away wet, was in pretty rough shape for my taste.
In fact damn near ALL the 4 runners in this area (Raleigh NC) all look like they have been driven by Apes.

I am thinking the only way I am going to find a 4Runner in really nice condition is probably Carmax, but the cheapest they have in the entire country is around $13,000.

Unless you want a beater then stay away from that one.

I would never buy any used car that lived north of the Mason Dixie Line. It may look good but the rust cancer has set in and the headaches start.

Last week I went to change out my lower ball joint, after snapping one of the 14mm bolts it turned to a long day .

You guys in cali and down south don't know how lucky you are.

Yeah, I know we're pretty lucky. I changed my fuel filter out in about 30 minutes with nothing but a wrench. Apparently for you Northerners it's a much tougher job, haha.

I put new Bilstiens in the rear of my 4runner and I only had to use a 14mm wrench and my hand. And these were the original 1999 Tokico shocks on it.

Keep Looking - They're Out There

I looked for mine for almost 6 months, and finally found it on Craigslist in VA. You have to be diligent, as the good ones only stay there a few days. If you want to stick with CL, be sure to search in VA and SC, also. As for the other sites, I searched them all: Autotrader, Cars.com, and eBay mostly.

I completely agree about the southern vs. the northern Runners - there were always a lot of them for sale, in the north, but they almost always had rust issues. Even the ads that said "no rust", you could usually see the rust in the pictures - who were they trying to kid?

Anyway, patience and perseverance - they're out there.
