2001 4Runner Factory Keyless Entry PN and FCC ID - hope this is helpful

I searched and it's not clear that anyone has every posted this, so, here goes.

Searching for a replacement remote dealers handed me the "kidney bean" aftermarket remotes, factory remotes with buttons way off-center, remotes with LED...but not what looked like MY old factory Toyota remote (FR: lock, unlock, window, BK: panic, toyota logo) until NOW.

So, long story short I dealt with 3 different dealers to finally feel confident in the correct PN and FCC ID for my 2001 4Runner.

I have the Factory Keyless Entry System, plus a port-installed "security system upgrade" that includes an alarm (part of an Extra Mile Option). This upgrade is piggy-backed off the factory system, so my 4Runner uses a factory remote. This is no surprise, because I know I had a factory remote before it broke and fell off my key ring.

All that said, it was difficult to figure out which PN and more importantly for not paying retail which FCC ID I needed.

This is what I found out regarding the PNs:
Original PN for my 2001 4Runner is 89742-35020 (Dealer #1 gave me this on the phone)
CURRENT PN which they explain replaced the above is 89742-35050 (Dealer #2 gave me this on the phone)
The FCC ID associated with the current PN is HYQ12BBX

The 3rd dealership was used to sanity check everything and they confirmed the current PN is correct. I called them because everything I was finding on the interwebs regarding the current PN and the FCC ID is associated with 2004 and beyond Sequoia and Rav4. I went in and got my hands on it to confirm it looked right and off course verify the FCC ID.

So, I'm buying a lightly used remote and will see if all this truly does pan out when it comes time to program.

It will be nice to have a remote after all these years...

Is your 2001 T4R a Limited or a SR5? because I have the SR5 SE and it has a different FCC on the back of the remote #HYQ1512Y, and it is what came with my truck...I have replaced it twice before with ones sold on Ebay and have had great results. No problems programing it to the truck....Dealers here in Dallas did not charge me for programing the remote...Good Luck on your remote search..... One FYI when you find the correct remote write the FCC# on the owners manual or in a safe place and this won't happen again....

SR5. To be honest, I expected it to be the HYQ1512Y. I am planning to take it to the dealer for programming. One of them gave me the impression he'd do it for free. If it doesn't work, I'll list it, they go quick, I have 100% as a seller on ebay, so I expect to recoup.

Also, from what I have read, just because we both have 01 SR5 doesn't mean we have the same FCC ID. Also pretty sure I saw a post (maybe on YT) where a guy programmed both an 1512Y and a BAN to the same vehicle.
