2001 4runner on tracks (snow)

Looks fun!

Just as long as you never throw a track. They never seem to throw in good situations either.

19K

That is cool as beans but that has to be anemic with the 3.4.

Just saying the obvious.

Some one needs to save the pictures before the add is gone and post them to this thread.

guy says he has had it in 10ft of snow. I can't even comprehend that. Looks like a beast.

Yeah, I'm not buying it. Tracks or no tracks he was stuck in a lot less than 10ft of snow. And no front locker so he was a snow throwing machine at that point. Don't get me wrong, I like it, but like so many things you see they are not what they advertise.

Love the truck but it's not 22.5 worthy. It's basically a 7-8K truck with an expensive accessory worth maybe 6K used.

Still I want one, but then I remember I live in Southern California! I'd have to drive 2 hours to see any snow.

I live in western PA and I still have no need for a machine like that. The surface area that the tracks cover would really allow for distribution of weight but like you said, no locker equals spin. Using the tracks has to be hard on the drive-train and just about everything else and the guy in me still says that it is the coolest thing ever.

Tracked 4runner

This was my build. I sold it a few years ago. Rest assured it would float over snow that was 10ft plus deep. Snow that deep in the Idaho Backcountry is common. That was up Big Springs above Yellow Pine Idaho. I know I was that deep cause I stopped for a dead fall log and sunk it in a drift. We dug our way out and it took almost 6 hours with 3 grown men... and a winch.

Yeah it robbed power like crazy. A v8 would have been ideal. Surprisingly it would top out arpund 70mph on the road with 4-6 inches of snow.

Impressive yet I suspect most anything on tracks like that would perform similarly in the same situation, blah...... :cowboy:
