2001 Front hub question

Does the 2001 have auto locking front hubs, or is the front diff always connected ?

Your front diff is an ADD diff so it will connect and disconnect when engaging or disengaging 4WD.

I got that, do the front half shafts turn continously, or are there hubs in the wheels that disconnect, like the older systems did.

The connection between your CV axles and your hubs is just a plain jane splined connection, so unless you installed manual hubs, your axles are turning whenever your front wheels are.

With the ADD Automatic hubs, the CV shafts will spin when you drive. The older manual hubs allow the CV shafts to unlock and not spin when you drive.
