Hi Guys

I currently have a 2009 Honda Pilot that I love, but its an expensive car payment these days! I love the AWD for the northeast winters...I got thinking about an older reliable truck/SUV that will do me well in the winter and I came across a 2002 4Runner Limited with 99k on the clock..The asking price is 11,999... body is in great shape! The car has been in TX its whole life, until they moved to NY and traded it in. What do you think? See picture album below.

Their asking price is probably a little high considering the model, age, and miles but I'd never pay the asking price. Ask if the timing belt and water pump have been replaced yet and that could be some leverage for bringing the price down. Just for reference, I paid $9500 two years ago for my 01 limited 4x4 with 99k.

Agree with price being too high. It's ten years old. It will be reliable, it's a Toyota. Make sure to look at the sticky on this sub forum about buying a 3rd gen 4runner. It will tell what to look for. Make sure you address all possible problems in the sticky with dealer.

In April I paid $8000 for a one-owner, dealer-maintained (everything - oil changes every 3K miles), 144K, near mint 2002 Limited at a used dealer lot (in the midwest). I'd say $12K is about $3k too high. $8K-$9K (maybe $10K max for the low miles) for a 2002 Limited. But then again, I looked for 6 months before I came across this deal.

Nice looking truck but IMHO way too high.

Me?

For 12k you could find a early 4th gen with abou the same miles. You might mention that to the seller. Id offer um 10k.
