Hey guys,
I am new to this forum as I am a potential new 4Runner owner. I have an opportunity to buy an 02 SR5 with 231,210 miles on it. It is in exceptional shape. It does have the typical antenna problem, but lower than usual wear and tear on cloth seats (not worn through, minimal to no staining). The tires are pretty new, the paint is also in above average condition. The rear bumper was replaced (with a Toyota factory bumper) due to two rust-through holes. It does have a sunroof (if that is not standard). roof racks and factory running boards (not the tube type). It does not squeak and rattle as you might expect. I have owned a Toyota before and while miles generally do not scare me, I am admittedly a little wary of the mileage on this one. The unknown variable is the timing belt. I am looking for opinions as well as things I should look for. Any recurring problems on this model/year? Anything big that may be coming up or could be past due for inspection/replacement? Anything you can think of would be helpful.
