2003 rear door squeek

Long time no see, Everyone!

My 2003 has had a squeek noise coming from the back, so i had a friend literally crawl into the back and isolate the location of said squeek while i drove. It occurs over bumps, large or small, and my friend thought maybe it was the rear door itself. When she applied some pressure to the back door, the squeekinv stopped. Im wondering if this could be a problem with the rear door latch? I close it til it clicks, and the self-lock mechanisim works (that pulls it in the last inch or so).

Thoughts? Recommendations? Thanks l

This is my first bump ever, And I apologize if it annoys, But I can't find much in the search for any symptoms of rear door latch failure.... And I don't want to be driving down the mass pike and have my back door fling open!

Have you lubed the latch?

Check the weather stripping, clean it up nicly and where it will contact the door then see if this helps the squeaking. We're getting in that age bracket with these vehicles that rubber starts getting less than new condition.

Found the issue....

Ran over a hex head wood screw that looked more like a lag bolt,...went to get it plugged, guy asked for the lug key...couldn't find it in the drivers-side rear compartment...then it occurred to me...that damn rattle...must be the key, got out of its pocket and was rollin around.
