2004 4Runner still on OEM Panasonic battery

this is the drive in movie that we go to, in Mendon Mass. I get to use the back side of the 4runner to lie down and watch with the kids. We just bring pillows and some cover and enjoy the cozy home .:sleepy:

We have one too in Mendon, Mass near where we live and also near our camp in Bridgton, Maine.

Haven't been though since Talledega Nights. Come to think about it, that was using our trusty Panasonic battery too. As mentioned above, 9 years/200k miles, still going.....

Yes, the drive in is still around, open only during the summer time. here's the site, if in case anyone gets to visit eastern massachusetts. Mendon Drive-In

it's pretty much family friendly. lots of kids and (lovers in the front row ).

You have a drive in theatre around you still? I thought those things were long gone. I miss the drive in! Hope you got to make out with some hotty :cheers:

Sorry to bump an old thread here but couldn't resist with this one. I just checked my sister's 2005 RAV4 and it is still on the OEM Panasonic battery. 142,060 miles!!!!!!:jaw drop: It starts up a little slow but it starts up every time!

Also, my 2006 4Runner I just bought 3 weeks ago had it too at 109,500 miles and it was on it's last leg so I replaced it with a Toyota True Start

153k miles on my '04 V6. Still rocking the original Panasonic. Spent 6 winters in Colorado and have a 4kW sound system. Starts up immediately. I wish all batteries were this good.

Almost exact same story except for the 4000 watt system (my goodness) She starts up fine even the other night when it got down to 4 degrees F.

2004 started getting inconsistent starts and some slow cranking. Replaced with 27 Group Size Die Hard. Didn't want to find out how far it'd last this winter.

I'm the same way, want to see how long it will actually last. Our '03 is over 205k miles now. Not sure if miles effects the battery as much as age. I tested the battery at Autozone like 4 years ago and it failed the test. Yet, it still starts right up every time, even on cold winter mornings. Probably pick up a DieHard Platinum after this thing finally dies. Have heard mixed reviews on the Toyota OEM replacement True Start.

Good to hear these batts are lasting like they are... 04 Limited 133k and orignal battery... timing belt was changed at 100k by the dealer (bought it at 124k) and even the sales guy said his 99 4runner was original battery... not sure what i'll get to replace it or if i'll start looking to add a second for the electric mods i have planned

That's not difficult. I have over 220k on my 05..and I know of a few people here who have more then I do.

80k 2003 limited still running on factory Panasonic. I think this is the best battery ever build I would love to replace it with another Panasonic battery but looks like they don't sell Panasonic in the state.

my original just took a crap at 114k. was thinking adding water to it. anyone know how it get refilled with distilled water?

So there are six of us so far with '04 4Runners still on the original battery. I guess there's nothing "special" about my battery! LOL.

Wow, I'm impressed. Most batteries seem to last 3 or 4 years on my other cars.

As the title says, my '04 is still going strong on the original Panasonic battery. Even after a summer of record heat here in NY, the battery shows no signs of dying. I did a 15-second load test on it yesterday and the needle didn't even budge!!

How long can we expect these batteries to last? Anyone else on the OEM battery after seven years?

I just changed my OEM battery after 8 years of use. I changed only because of a deployment. Kinda risky but I probably could have gotten another year or so.

Just changed out the panasonic in the 07 FJ. 173469 on the clock. my 08t4r has 89000ish and is still on the panasonic

I replaced the battery on my 2004 Limited this past October. It was starting to go and I began taking the train pretty frequently to work instead of driving. The combination of less driving time and the onset of cold weather plus a coupon for a battery at Pep Boys convinced me to just get it before I got stranded somewhere. 8+ years from a battery is good enough.
