2005 4Runner Limited - Stereo modification

Recently I upgraded from a 2007 F150 to a 2006 SR5, which makes the 3rd 4Runner in my family. (Dad, me, little bro.)

My brother would like to play music from his iPhone. He currently has FM-transmitter connection but it provides poor quality and other inconvenient factors. I've looked at a couple of options such as AUX and iPhone Car Kit for Toyota 4Runner 2003-2009 | GTA Car Kits and similar options.

Could anyone recommend other options? I'm interested in auxiliary adapters like the one mentioned above, swapping out the stereo, or blue-tooth options.

Thanks,
Mitch

Yeah there is also one in my 06 SR5. When I realized this, I thought for sure he also had one. Instead of an aux port in his 05 Limited, there is a 120v outlet.

I installed a Scion stereo and bought an Iphone cable so I can charge and use my steering wheel controls for choosing songs. No need for AUX cable.

Yes I have the JBL stereo---the steering wheel controls work with it also. I use the bluetooth connection with my iphone5.

Any reason you didn't go for the one with a usb port that also accepts an android or iphone direct connection for $12 more, as opposed to BT only? I have the JBL Synthesis, any idea if this would work with that?

Edit: Nevermind I see that the one I'm looking at is USB only, with an optional BT module add-on.

Well to be honest it was just a lack of a reason to get that one.

The BT provides everything he needs. And I say that because he has a 120V outlet in his center console that he uses to charge it. And it would actually be easier for him to use that if he wants to charge it than for a chord to be coming out of the front panel somewhere.
