2005? or 2006?

Hi guys… I am planning on getting a 4th gen runner within the next 4 months… In your opinions, is there going to be a big difference on whether I pick up a 2005 model or a 2006 model? Other than the slight changes to the exterior look, such as the bumper lights? I'm a little partial to the 2006 and up look. So what are the pros and cons for each year model that I should take into consideration? Thanks for the info in advance.

I'm new here too but I read as much information as whatever was available on this site as well as other sites.

You might want to do your own research and make a decision on which model you feel is better for you. The info is right in this forum all you have to do is search.

If price diff is not much go for the 06. IMHO it looks nicer.

I think the wheels are larger too on the 06 Limited and that is what I have so a bit bias. :)

I was torn too between the two different styles when I went and got mine. In the end, I got a black 2006 limited. In my opinion the cosmetic differences are a little more modern and just nicer. The fogs and front bumper look better, and they got rid of those extra set of reflectors on the back bumper in 2006. Plus the 2006 comes LED tail lights and with projector headlights. That makes it really easy to install a Hid kit without having to buy an aftermarket headlight assembly.

The lights and most panels are interchangable and can be upgraded later on. This route is good if you don't have the funds to jump to a newer model.

At first I was planning on a 3rd gen as the motor was super reliable if maintained. After comparing the 3rd gen to the 4th gen, I prefer the 4th as it's bigger and less to maintain. That's when my search started.

Was going to get a 2003 since price are lower and I can just buy outright with cash. Then this last Monday I was going to pick up a 2007 with 86k for $22k but pass on it. Today after work I will be taking ownership on a 2008 Sport with 43k miles CPO for more but still worth it.

I wanted a limited but can just add leather in the future.

It's all what you really want, how much you willing to spend, or you can live without for a few months until you start modding.
