Low miles are nice but I wouldn't be surprised if it needs some stuff because it's sat a lot of its life. Rubber seals, tires... ect.

For a good price.. Buy it.. 2005 were rated with the most power. No cons on the 4th gen. They supposedly fixed the rattles on the 2005. If you love the 3rd gen as I did you would love the 4th gen.

I have one, over 100k miles. About 10k ago, I pulled out the Rear Air Suspension and disconnected XREAS. Went with OME springs, shocks and coilovers. Rides well with about a 2" lift. Replaced brake pads and rotors about 25k miles ago. Replaced diff and trans fluids with synthetic (it gets cold up here!).

Just received Clazzio seat covers as the OEM seats are cracking a little bit where I drag my ass in and out (will be installing tonight).

No cons that i can think of. Personal opinion is the Seats a far from comfortable but thats just me.... Other than that i second the previous poster on seals/tires.. etc. from sitting more.

They're horrible horrible vehicles. I'd never think of owning one...especially that year with a V8.

On a serious note. Just double check the secondary air injection system. I'd recommend doing the bypass as preventative maintenance.

Something like that is very rare where I live. No one has 4WD V8s here that I have found. Very few 4th Gen come up for sale at all, and are usually 2WD V6 when one surfaces.

Would have snapped it up in a second.

I hate to give up on my 3rd gen - but the engine is toast and I think it's time to move on.

How much are they asking? Seems like a nice amount of mileage for it's age, enough that it's used so that rubber stays pliable and doesn't dry out but not enough where parts are wearing out. It probably has the original battery and nearly brand new replacement tires.

One thing for you to check is that the XREAS suspension is not leaking and still functioning properly.

While this is technically true, it is very misleading. 2006-09 V8's were equally as powerful.

I made the switch from a 97 to my current 2004 a few weeks ago and I don't regret it one bit. I love having a better ride, more amenities, more HP, more room, better brakes, better MPG.

Sounds like you hit the jackpot with that setup and that mileage, you better move on that one before it gets snapped up! Not much bad can happen in 50K if it has a clean carfax. Props on getting 4WD too (if you get it). I mean, what is the point of a 2Wd 4Runner anyways?

Seems a little steep although I LOVE mine!
I paid about $18,500 with 67,000 in 2008.
Maybe don't give up yet????

yes.. run not walk. 15k is a reasonable price regardless of miles. Its still a 10 year old truck. Since you are in SF. you can buy my 3rd gen..

I still check the ads to see the market in our area. There is a couple decent ones for 10k.
