2006 4runner V6 fuel:regular/super unleaded

I'm about to buy my first 4runner... previous owner has been using regular fuel in the V6, instead of super unleaded... has this caused any damage to the engine... would you still recommend in buying this 2006 4runner

I wouldn't worry about it, I use "regular" 87 octane in mine since day one.

They are designed to run just fine on 87. No worries.

I've run my last two vehicles over 200K miles on 87. Unless the engine design requires the additional ping protection, you're only pissing away money on the higher grades.

Yeah, 87 grade gas will be just fine for you. In fact, from what I've heard, using super in a car that takes regular can actually do more harm than good. The engine doesn't burn all of the fuel due to the higher octane and leaves deposits that can build up in your engine.
