I found a t4r 2006 vintage that has around 35000 miles on it at a large toyota dealer in my area. It has alot of bells and whistles and probably only met 4wd in the snow every couple of years. I currently drive a 2005 Tacoma Double Cab 4wd which had been a awesome truck and it has just crossed 100000. My truck is as basic as I could get at the time and only has power windows and mirrors and a cd player. I've come to a point where I need more passenger comfort for those in the backseat. And the truck bed just gives me a place to put a bunch of crap that has no other place. Would this be a step back as far as performance, handling , offroad ability. I dont go mudding, but my truck does make it into 4wd every month or so on some possibly damaging stuff to get to a remote shooting area, rain gullies and steep hills mostly. This 4runner is listed at 18,700 which is higher than i would want to go, but im sure there is some wiggle room. Depending in tradein or personal sale amount, Im very intrigued by the possibility of getting what i want and no car payment again.
I have also been looking at newer versions that run closer to the 30's for low mileage used. Am I better getting next gen tech from what i already have or is there not much difference?
Sorry so long winded-help me out guys
