Thinking of buying a 2006 Limited 4x4 V-6 with approx. 65000 miles. It looks from pictures to be in good shape, but need to go look at it and drive it. Its Silver, but no navigation. He's asking $17900. Any thoughts on what I should offer if its clean? Is it in the ballpark? Is it a good solid rig?

Check for any leaks or squeaks. Upper & lower ball joints and CV's. Also run through the 4WD system and make sure everything locks into place. 4Hi, 4Hi with center diff locked, 4Lo, 4Lo with center diff locked. 4Hi will go in with the truck moving at a slow speed. Stop the truck and lock the center diff and let it roll in a straight line for like 25ft then come to a stop and unlock the center diff. Put it in neutral and put it down to 4Lo and make sure it locks in drive slowly in a straight line, then stop and lock the center diff and make sure it goes in as well. Drive in a straight line for about 25ft (slowly) and then go back to neutral, unlock the diff and go back to 2wd.

$15k would be a steal compared to Seattle, that truck would sell for $20k+ up here with those options, limited V6's seem to command an even bigger premium up here. In any case, see if he's got a good service pedigree with it, and as others have said, check everything to see that it works. Actuators should click it into 4x4 within a few seconds, but since you're in the desert it's entirely possible it hasn't been activated in quite some time.
