2006 SR5 oil change

I have a 2006 SR5 with 60,000 miles on it. I do all my own oil changes. but this time i went to advanced auto and got 5-20 synthetic instead of 5-30 which is what the manual calls for. Is this going to hurt my engine. They looked it up on their computer and it said my vehicle needed the 5-20. but when i looked it up in my owners manual it said 5-30. confused please help????:wtf:

Their computer is wrong. Your engine uses 5w-30. 5w-20 wont hurt your engine, just switch back to 5w30 next time.

Using synthetic you could use 5w30, 5w20, 10w30, 0w20, 0w30, etc. None of which are wrong or will hurt your engine one bit. What the manual shows is a general overall oil that is good for most conditions. It can depend on your climate and driving conditions, but in a synthetic all of these will protect your engine just as well as another.
