2006 V8--Regular Maintenance Questions

Hey guys,

I have begun to do my own maintenance recently and I just want to make sure I do everything. What are some things that should be done every oil change? I know the obvious stuff like checking tire pressure, air filter, leaks, anything like that. But what other stuff should be done? What should be greased for example? How would I grease this and what grease should I get? And anything else that should be done with every oil change (or regularly). Links to write ups or the like would help as well. Thanks!

The only other thing I do when I do an oil change is grease the drive shaft and slip yokes. I use mobile1 chassis grease. Search the forum, I believe there is a wright up on how to do it.

Some steps of general maintenance that you can do on your own are
1. Replace engine and brake fluid
2. Check tire pressure.
3. Check spark plug wires.
4. Clean your fuel filter
5. Flush your radiator
6. Check and fill coolant
7. Check oil level

These items questioned should be checked long before an oil change is due. Every couple of weeks I check tire pressure, air filter, in cabin air filter, leaks, etc, etc... It's fun for me maintaining my Runner. All these items can be answered with a search.. I see you have 1800 posts. You've never read a thread about any of these items?

My sincerest apologies if i'm wrong, as I have an '03 v8, but i believe you might want to replace or at least inspect your timing belt
