2007 SportEdition Roof Basket Options

Hey guys,

I have a 2007 SE, and am starting to look into getting a safari rack. I had the Yakima MegaWarrior on my 3rd Gen, but given the SE has that goofy tubular rack I wanted to make sure there weren't any special consideration I needed to bear in mind as I shop. Optimally, I would get the Gobi Stealth if I had the dough squirreled away. Unfortunately I simply don't have $1500+ sitting for an aesthetic upgrade (plus my wife would notice it and certainly not approve).

Anyway, any counsel would be welcome. Also, if anyone happens to have a basket laying around that's like the MOAB, the MegaWarrior, the Rola, and yes, the Gobi Stealth, let me know via PM. I might be interested!

These are awesome, and not too pricey (pre-shipping, at least)... I might need to add one of these to the list. They look like they bolt right onto the stock roof mounts too, so even better. That way I don't need to mess with the tubular rails. Thanks for suggesting them.

Having seen one in person, I'd recommend the WMW as well. However if you do go with one of the removable racks, there is no difference in mounting between the sport tubes and sr5/limited rack.

Both use crossbars that are about the same size, the only difference is the looks and maybe 10-15 lbs of increased capacity with the tube rack.

Thanks for the clarification. I kind of figured as much from when I recalled about the MegaWarrior I had on my old 3rd Gen, but I did want to be sure.

I'll have to PM WMW directly and see what kind of a deal I can get cut on one shipped up to MN.
