2008 Lift gate handle melting

I need to replace exterior lift gate handle. Don't know if its the heat here in Florida or a combination of the heat and cleaning,waxing chemicals I've used but the rubber coating on the handle is getting very soft and don't know how much longer it will last. Haven't had any luck finding diagram or part number on line. Appreciate any suggestions.

part # 84840-35010 it was $75 with taxes at the local stealership.

don't have the time to do your search. however, the latch is defective. It's also caused my high humidity and heat. just search for "liftgate melting" in the 4th Gen Forum. The new ones don't do it. It's easy to do yourself.

2008 Lift gate handle

So, still not sure if I now have an unused original faulty rubber part or an updated new one that will not melt. The rubber on new part looks like original one and it was cheap,$33.00 on e-bay. Time will tell.
Installed with no problems. I didn't have a deep well socket but was able to turn nut by not seating the socket on all the way on the wrench.
Kinda sucks that Toyo does not reimburse for the part,they must know something is going on when they start getting a bunch of orders for a particular part.
My brother has a 2008 Tacoma that had a recall last month to replace leaf springs and before dealer replaced springs they said Toyo wants us clean underneath and repaint. Which was also under warranty. Not to bad a deal for second owner on a seven year old vehicle.
