Greetings everyone. Ever since sitting in my brother-in-law's 4R back in '97, I've been a huge fan of this vehicle. I've owned Toyotas my entire life. My first car was a '88 MR2 s/c. After that I've owned an Avalon, and most recently an RX300. I've just sold my RX300 and purchased a 2010 LE 4R.. finally after over a decade of 'thinking-about-it'. And I couldn't be happier. I generally do not enjoy driving -- I live in LA where traffic makes driving about as enjoyable as root canals. But since I got my new toy, I started getting excited about getting behind the wheel, as if I was turning 16 all over again.
The 4R was second hand and came with only 1 smartkey. In researching an economical way to obtain a second smartkey, I came across this forum. In the past 2 weeks, I've used this site to obtain instructions for installing running boards (thanks hawaiian) which I completed last week. I've also learned how to use the USB port to play music (thanks poolzer). And I've purchased a replacement horn which I'm excited to be working on this weekend (thanks in advance snow&surf and titanpat for the detailed instructions). I've never been a car guy and I must admit, have been pretty intimidated to pop the hood. But this site is so open and informative that an old newbie like me can even get things done.
