Trying to diagnose a potential issue with a 2011 4Runner Limited. Via OBDII signal, the TPS only reads as high as 65%, and at idle sits at 0%. Unfortunately, I can't seem to get raw voltage readings out.
I know more about GM ECU tuning but typically at idle GM TPS's sit around 1-2% and max out at 100%, or even sometimes 99% with DBW vehicles.
I found it odd that the TPS is only registering 65% at WOT, though, and doing some digging it appears as though the TPS is not serviceable on the 5th gen's. Is that the case, or am I just missing something? If possible I'd obviously rather spend $50 or $100 on a TPS than $400 on a new throttle body, or if I can recalibrate my TPS, can anyone give any pointers?
Any other advice would be appreciated, including further troubleshooting ideas - unfortunately HP Tuners doesnt support Toyotas so I am a little limited to what I can do compared to the LS stuff I am used to. Watching the timing advance it seems a little funky and the vehicle seems like its down a bit on power, hesitates, and generally sometimes seems delayed in recognizing gas pedal input, but gas mileage has stayed quite good - even up to 20+ mpg on longer highway trips under 70mph.
