2013 level kit help?

Hi All, New owner of a silver 2013 4R sr5. wanting to do the level kit. seeing many that are 3inch front and 1-2 inches in the rear. which kit is best for a true level? not ready to dump alot of coin for an icon yet but am wanting to get a decent level with a little lift.
Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks everyone!

3. I think general consensus is to get the bilstein 5100's for up front to level your 4R.

I think you will have a good idea of what you want front and rear after that, there's tons of great pictures of all the different lift options out there. Everyone's idea of true level and what's "best" varies greatly, so trust your eyes and look at the pictures!

FWIW...I browsed all 80+ pages of the 'posted lift pics' last Friday night. It took about 4-5 hours. There are a ton of sweet 4R's on this site, that is for sure.

Word of advice, take notes, save photos/links on your computer for future reference if possible. I wanted to go back and 'find' a rig that I remembered seeing. It took awhile to find an individual photo within the 80 pages of pics.

The bad thing is it'll give you more and more ideas for what to do to your 4R = meaning time to break out the wallet!!! :doh:

Thanks guys, this is what i ended up ordering. Daystar KT09134BK Front and Rear Suspension Lift Kit for Toyota 4Runner : Amazon.com : Automotive . daystar seems to be what most are using. its the 2 1/2 front 1 1/2 rear.

Cant find any online instructions to go over before they arrive. anyone have any ideas where to find some? checked daystar but they list the lift kit but no instructions :ybrick:

It's not Daystar-specific, but here is the LINK to Toytec Spacer Lift Installation instructions. They are all pretty much the same in theory.

It looks like both the Daystar and Toytec front spacers are nearly identical. I have the Low Range Off-road spacer kit in my garage, waiting for install.

Based on the installation instructions, I'd say yes.

That was the main reason I didn't buy the the toytec or daystar. I recall having to removing the coil spring from the shock, and inserting the spacer, then install/compress the spring back in place.

The Low Range spacer you just bolt up to the top of the spring/shock assembly. No spring compressor needed.

Do a search for "Strut replacement without a spring compressor" on google and/or youtube. you should find some forum threads and a how-to video or 2. Can be done easily and safely using proper placement of jack stands and using your hydronic jack under the lower control arm.

Oh...and I realize its too late now, but you could have spent a tad bit more money and gotten the adjustable bilsteins to give you the lift up front. Much better ride than stock and would give you several more options down the road (such as new coils or coilovers). 4 bilsteins is one of the most effective and budget friendly mods you can do.

I think the most common answer you will get here will be, don’t take your 4R to any dealer if you can help it.
Try to find a local shop that you can trust(recommendation from a friend/family member/someone here) would be your best bet.
I highly doubt any Toyota dealer would install aftermarket/non-Toyota parts anyways.

Level puck only on stock SR5

Mike,

Here is a pic of my 2015 SR5 Premium with a 1" inch aluminum puck ($35) with stock wheels and tires. I am sitting only 1/4 inch lower in the front and did not need the Diff Drop that I bought. Drives perfectly like stock.

Parking lot in pic is sloped, front measures lower than back.
