What do you guys think of this?

Specs are very impressive:
2.1 inline-4 twin turbo diesel (*requires AdBlue injection every oil change)
200 hp and a massive 369 lb-ft of torque at 1600 rpms
7-speed auto tranny
24 mpg city / 33 mpg highway (28 overall)
3500 lbs towing capacity
4-matic is STANDARD
Approach/departure/breakover = 23/25/19
Ground Clearance = 7.4 in
Fording dept = 11.8 in
Max tilt = 35 degrees
Approximately 70% of the GLK Class body structure is made from ultra-high- and high-strength steel.

There is a slight turbo lag on some reviews. Maintenance will be expensive. But, at least according to Consumer Reports, the GLK is actually not as bad as the past reputation of MB cars.

This is small SUV, but the mileage attracts me. I have always liked the GLK...but darn it, too small for my 3 little ones.

I like the GLK, but it's too small for me. Nice to see some diesel options available in NA.

I believe the bigger CUV/SUV comes in diesel, not the g-wagen.

Yeah, but i don't like the shape of the ML. GL is OK, but too big and expensive. My wife wants MDX in the next few years...so, i don't need another hog in my garage with the minivan.

It is...but this is to replace my Prius in the next year or two. I drive a lot...and i want something with AWD.

Apparently, this engine had major issue from 2009-2010 with OM651 engine Delphi piezo fuel injector problem that would cause total loss of power on the freeway! :( Here is a post from MB forum:

"The 220 CDI GLK was "launched" late Spring 2009 and the injector issue came to public early autumn (fall), September time frame. The first fixes came February/March 2010 and went on (we had last recall December 2011!), without resolving the problem. Not until some time this year, 2012, is the concept with the piezo injectors left, and replaced by solenoids. Meaning, we've by MB been used as QCs for 2 - 2½ year in their struggle for resolving the issue.

The piezo-injectors are made by Delphi, was a new design for the OM651s, different from the systems from Continental and Bosch, whose reliabilty may be proven.

There are about 300,000 OM651 owners affected, a great number of us with injector failures, and I just can imagine how many Lemon Law claims would have been lifted if the GLK CDIs until now had been sold in US. So I bet MB now will gain some experience with the "rebuilt" OM651s before make them available for the North American market. That's why my guess is as said."
