So, funny story... I bought a 2010 SR5 a week ago (traded in a Jetta Tdi), and a week later my sister goes out and trades in her X3 in on a 2014 Limited.

Kind of crazy, considering she didn't really say anything about buying a 4runner until she was at the dealer. I was all like "you know I bought one last week, right??"

Here's hers since it'll fit nicely in this thread. The big chrome front is different... I kind of like it.

Anyone else wondering why they got rid of the battery gauge?

I was wondering the same thing. I know the battery warning light indicates a problem with the charging system, but I really like having an analog voltmeter to provide a heads up on a potential (no pun intended) problem, as well.

Limited looks great, Trail looks horrible. Crazy reversal from the 10-13's. Trail looked way better on the 10-13's now the LTD's outshine.

Waiting to find one that has been totaled so I can go shopping for my 2011 LTD.

My '14 in California

I purchased my '14 Limited last Thursday. Between then and now, I have put a whopping 3,300 miles on my 4Runner. It's quite sad, but I'm just happy to be back to California living. I was taking a ride up PCH today and decided to stop off in Malibu for a little bit at the beach. Of course, I couldn't help but take a picture. Excuse the filter, but the original photo was pretty dark. I'm still in love w/ my 2014.

I was able to get up to a dealership in Colorado Springs today to look at several 2014 SR5 and TE models. Despite my initial dislike of the refresh (mainly due to the front end), it did not look nearly as bad as all of the pictures. The darker colors do a better job of hiding the larger intake openings and the "gills". Overall, I would say Toyota has done a good job with the refresh. I definitely like the way the turn signals and puddle lamps are integrated into the redesigned side view mirrors. Like the painted rear deck trim of the SR5. Like the black interior of the TE, although the sun highlights the "metallic flake" in the black and makes it look dusty. I like the appearance of the SR5 cloth fabric in the refresh better than the 10-13 models. If it were available on the premium, I might choose it over the synthetic leather.

I was scoping out to see if the under door trim of the 2014 could replace the side skirts of the 10-13 SR55 and LE and, as long as the attachment points are the same, it looks like it could. I'm already eyeing modding my 2010 with bits and pieces of the 2014!

The dealer I visited usually has a TE model that they mod out with a wheel/tier package, lift, and brush bar, and they did not disappoint with the 2014. Here is a shot of a TE on the lot with a wheel package and a lift. Sorry for the lousy cell phone picture.

the limited it seems get 2 different type of running boards. one's with black end caps and the ones w/o and angled ends.

$1500 msrp on automatic running boards is tad bit high imo.

if you have to deal with any significant snow, only bad part is they get frozen and don't work. hence I went with the regular running boards.
