for those lucky enough to actually get the "DK" option (which I think is the pleather/leather pouch) covet these as Toyota no longer includes these in new Toyota's.

I went to the dealer a while back and went thru all the show room floor vehicles and not one 2014 had the leather pouch. even the tundra 1794 didn't have one, but at least the glove box has a separate section squared off to hold them.

luckily I found very brand new 2012 Tacoma leather pouch on ebay for $10 + $5 shipping.

if you have a pouch you like make sure you keep it when/if you switch as you may no longer get them, unless a dealer goes 3rd party and add's this as a nice perk.

I will be making sure I transfer mine new pouch and the warden's pouch to the new vehicle if/when I get new Toyota's.

edit : forgot to add, it may be just my region (Kansas City) that no longer include this perk, ymmv.

I didn't get one with my 2013 either. Very surprised considering the price of the vehicle. I know it's petty but come on. A brown envelope for my owner's manual? Even my Subaru gave me a pouch.

Hey NoDak! I got one with my '14. I emailed the sales manager and he said it came from Gulf States and not them (the dealer).

I've run into this same discussion on my other Toyotas (cars and trucks) over the years on other forums and I've gotten one with all my Toyotas from Gulf States where others around the country have not.

PS, I'm looking at my window sticker and they do not have the DK option specifically itemized on it as optional or distributor installed option.

I didn't get one with my 2013 either, and, quite honestly, I don't care. You got a brown envelope for your manual? I didn't get anything. I still don't care. The owner's manual and navigation manual sit in the glovebox 99.5% of the time until I need to look something up. The glovebox IS the pouch.

I'm not sure what the price of the vehicle has to do with this, really. If I was buying something luxurious, then maybe I would expect special treatment in the finer details. By luxurious, I mean something in the six-figure range and beyond. Today, a $40,000 vehicle isn't anything lavish. If you don't get a leather case for your manual and key when you buy your MacLaren P1, then maybe I'd complain to the dealership.

I don't remember how the glove box in the 2013 was, but the 2014 glove box has a flat bottom. needless to say, if you take any corner faster than the resistance of the covers (and it doesn't take much to make them slide), they whack the side of the inside glove box, and when you have 4 books sliding at once they make a fairly loud whack to where it gets annoying.

I had them in the center console, but they took up a lot of space. I rather have the books in the glove box than the center console as I use the center for a lot of stuff I need on a regular basis, po box keys, stamps, tissue, pen, gloves, phone charger adapter (android and iphone), flashlight, etc.

I move crap I rarely use into the glove box.
