Fair enough. Shortcomings or not, between here and social media groups, I've seen enough of the product over the last month to say they look and probably perform better than the stock halogen units. For the cost, I'm working willing to give them a try.
Yep. I ran it out towards the fender. Closed Just fine with light pressure.

Your aiming of lights is off. I set mine with laser level and with fogs you should not have the dark area upfront as you do. no offense but for peeps rude enough to run fogs all the time they should at least be set right not to sucker punch drivers in their eyes

There is a video somewhere (I think) in this thread that shows how to run it out the engine side of the box
I would move it. go over a few to many bumps and it will cut right through the wire. I might be wrong but would not chance it. I didn't know about the video and dremeled spot for the wire.

Are you saying my headlights are off or the fogs? I did my best to do the adjustment using the 25' method and the aiming guide provided by Morimoto.

Looks like the fogs are high. front of the truck should have little to no dark area. 25' method is tricky. most surfaced concrete is pitched for rain runoff or interior drainage. Even flat looking lots are off. I drove all over and the best I found was about an inch off pitch using a laser level. not the end the world but ask women, that inch matters:lmao:
Yeah adjusting the lights took longer than the install itself. I did not touch the fog lights, as these came stock on the truck. So I'd like to think they were properly adjusted from the factory.
In highly doubt that it would cut the wire. It barely left an indentation on the wires insulation. The fender side has a smaller lip/ridge than the firewall side.
I’ll still probably dreamed a spot next time I do my oil though.

Maybe runners are different, I tried up and over and without even fully locked in put a heck of a crease in the wire

I've been wanting to see how these look from afar on that color because I'm envious of people that have it.
I will likely do this sometime when I get a chance. Not because I am worried about the wire, but rather because it looks much cleaner.

For folks who installed the the XB headlights.....does the bumper under the headlights feel like its flexing? Mine kind of wobbles when I push on the front bumper right next to the fog lights. (just curious if I installed the front bumper wrong or if it's naturally like this).

Received and installed my set of headlights from hidkitpros on Wednesday. I'm glad to report back that I will be keeping them as the Morimoto XBs are an overall improvement over the stock halogen lights.
I can't speak to the output compared to HID kits in the stock housings but the light output of these are definitely better than stock. Although the stock housings weren't at all bad looking, I feel like the XBs also improve the overall exterior aesthetics with the darkened housings. The switchback turn signals are also a nice touch.
As others have noted, I can also confirm there are some darker areas at the sides near the car fender areas. The majority of my driving at night have been with the fog lights off and I can see just fine. Running the OEM fogs fill everything out nicely if the dark areas are an annoyance. Not life/death as others have made it out to be.
Some questions for the others who have been running the Morimotos for a while...
- The step to hardwire the DRL harness to the battery was initially omitted on my car and, although there was no noticeable difference, I installed the harness later for piece of mind. What's does running the DRL harness to the battery accomplish?
- I needed exactly three turns to raise the low beam height. If you can recall, how much vertical adjustment was needed to raise the low beams to the height of the stock housings?
Here are some pictures and road test video. The start of the video is on a dark street with no street lights then transitions into a neighborhood with curves in both directions.
