2015 T4R cup holder solution...

Hi Guys,

Anyone notice that the 2015 T4R cup holders suck?

I picked up starbucks last week but the cupholders were too big and the coffee spilled onto my seat. I have seen cup holder inserts for other cars but wanted to see if anyone had a solution to this.

I searched the forums before posting but I couldn't find anything regarding 5th gen models.

Yep, your T4R should have come with one insert for each of the two cup holders. The insert will house smaller beverages like coffee and without the insert it will house larger water bottles. I think the two sizes work well for a wide variety of cups and bottles. I'd contact your sales person to get them.

I received the rubber inserts with the car. However, some cups (such as starbucks) have a narrow frame and tends to wiggle around, hense spilling my coffee. I wanted to see if there were better solutions for smaller sized cups or better inserts that have flaps that holds onto different sizes. Hope that makes sense.

You could always shove a tampon in the cup holder between your Frappuccino. That way if your coffee spills it would soak it up.

Get a bigger insulated cup and pour your coffee into it... my Starbucks insulated SS cup works perfectly.

Do you do a lot of rough road driving and quick turns? I cannot think of how a cup would spill over with just "normal" driving. I (well, my wife) throws the starbucks coffee (those sweet ones, cold and hot, large size) in the cupholders just fine with no issues.

But if there are issues, simple layering some napkins around it, pouring it into a different cup, or shoving something beside it each time to stop it from wiggling too much.
