2015 Tundra

I recently traded in my 2014 Sequoia Limited. Loved the Sequoia but wanted to get back into a real truck and lower my monthly payment. Got a decent deal on the Tundra (~$37k) and a great deal on my trade (actually had some equity in a 1 year old vehicle). I had a 2004 F-250 (before I bought my 2011 T4R) and missed the versatility of a truck. Gonna be using the Tundra to tow a 26-28 foot Jayco travel trailer I'm hoping to buy in the near future.

Picked up this 2015 SR5 TRD CrewMax. Love everything about the Tundra except for the lack of slide/recline rear seats (for ease of installing 2 car seats) and the gas mileage (averaging 11-12 MPG). I needed the CM to haul around the wife and kids. No major mods planned, I already had the front windows tinted to match the rears, installed OEM running boards, and Husky Xact front/rear floor liners.

Love everything except the gas mileage? FYI - gas mileage goes down towing a 27 foot Jayco, lol. Recline rear seats? The peeps paying the car note don't need to recline.

That is one nice Tundra. Perfect color too.

Wait a second...you're telling me towing a 8000 pound rolling brick behind my truck is going to DECREASE my mpg?! That's it, I'm taking it back to the dealership tomorrow!

I wasn't complaining, just offering a couple first impressions. This isn't my DD so I was just pointing out that if I had to pick out something to be critical of, it would be the gas mileage. Most domestic 1/2 tons get better MPG. But I would rather have a Yota truck and take a little hit on the mileage. The reclining rear seat complaint is coming from me regarding the difficulty of putting the kids car seats in the back. I love the color too, my last 4 vehicles have all been white. And yes it is financed.

If you didn't already buy the Jayco, check out the Keystone Bullet models as well. We went with a Bullet 272BHS, which weighs in at only 4,980 lbs dry. I picked it over the Jayco Whitehawk we were comparing because it's all aluminum framing for floor, walls and roof. Only wood framing I've found so far is under the rear bunk bed, which I'm not sure why it isn't aluminum too.

Anyway, awesome looking truck. Grille almost looks like the TRD Pro at first glance.

Thanks! I'm still saving and shopping around. I'm still trying to decide between a new or used camper. I'm leaning towards new just because it seems like most of the used ones on the market here are used/abused and/or have damage to them. I will check out the Keystone Bullet, what did it run you if you don't mind me asking?

Sticker price was around $36k according to the build/spec sheet they gave me but I got it for $24k.

Here's a couple of interior shots on the 272BHS. One nice thing I like is that it's a bunk house model but has rear windows. Most don't have rear windows unless you get a rear living room model.

The rear windows are great when you have a nice camp site
