Possibly moving to Wyoming. I've heard that there are a lot of critter crashes. Is there a bumper you all can recommend? I'd love aluminum, but not sure it's worth the price. It needs to be something that would actually protect the rig from a deer impact. Currently not interested in mounting a bumper, but would probably want the option in the future.

If you're purchasing purely for animal strikes then the ARB bumper is the only way to go. It sticks out further for a reason, is meant to deflect animals, and is crash test rated. The obvious con is that they are HEAVY but provide the most protection. I doubt an aluminum bumper would provide much protection in a high speed animal crash and you're probably throwing your money away. Steel full guard bumpers like C4 Fab would do better than aluminum but they are still tucked in way close and not crash rated.
Yeah, I thought I would get that answer! I like the ARB, but it's sooo heavy! I guess I would need to upgrade the front springs too, eh?

ARB bumper is the only logical choice if your concern is purely animal impacts. That bumper is like 200lbs so you might want to upgrade to heavier duty springs unless you're fine with the front end sagging.

Yeah you'll definitely want heavier springs up front. Might as well get whole new suspension setup while you're at it.
Do you have a rec for new front springs to maintain factory height? Not interested in lifting the vehicle.

Check out Dobinsons springs. They have lots of options with different weight and height options. You'll want to upgrade your shocks at the same time as well because the stock shocks aren't made to be running heavier or taller coils. You can go with something like a Bilstein 5100 or 6112 setup which is pretty budget friendly.
