Nobody mentioned to look at a Jeep TRubiDon.

I bought the KDSS and granted I spend the majority of my time on the pavement but trying to find someone in Minnesota who I would trust working on suspension with KDSS is becoming a challenge.

I personally would like to replace the stock suspension for a better system with the same lift specs as the TRD Pro while retaining the KDSS.

TRD Pro owners seem to get hated on simply because they can afford the Pro. Class Warfare - Poor people hating on those richer than them is a common thing in society. Is an iPhone better than a Samsung, no the samsung has better hardware everyone knows this, but Samsung users hate on iPhone users whose phone costs $150 more. Apple does better job with marketing and design.
The Trail Premium is better truck and better value than the Pro, the pro just has some tinsel and better marketing. Your Trail is a Samsung Galaxy and the Pro is an iPhone

TLDR version: non Pro owners are jelly and butthurt theyre priced out of the top model

I own an SR5, feel free to swing by and look and my dump of a house..... if owning a Pro makes me rich than my 5k sqft shanty should be comical for you. the wifes 2015 LS460 is another icon of how poor we are....... Fing idiot.

I found a TRD Pro and went for a test drive. I was impressed with the looks and the shocks. As far as the drive went, not so good. Keep in mind I'm coming from a 2008 V8 sport with icon suspension, 285's, etc. The V6 was slow, the ride was wobbly, and no offense, but the 5th gen is a downgrade in a lot of ways. Simple things that are gone quickly added up. No tip start feature anymore? No auto climate control? Cheap knobs? Crap sound (compared to the JBL in the '08). Then came the price of non-negotiable $43k plus tax/tags/registration. I next went down the street for another test drive and my mind was made up. Did a quick search and brought this one home. I'll see ya'll on the trails.

yeah i drove both the TRD and the Trail. And although the TRD looked badass I plan on doing my only modifications to the car.

After much debate and endless nights of staying up and researching I have decided to go with a Prius.

Might want to drive before you buy... Just saying. Many people are very disappointed with the responsiveness of the motor.. It's not like a 4th gen. Still a fantastic truck, just not a powerhouse of any sort.

I have a 2002 Tacoma with the 3.4L, 200K miles, my son has the truck. Great truck, lacking in the power department. My commuter vehicle is a 1996 T100 with 250K plus miles.

I traded in a 2005 F150 for my 2015 TP, I agree with you fantastic truck, Toyota quality like I come to expect, I am sure I will keep this truck for a long time, but it is not a powerhouse. In fact when I see pictures of people pulling 19' travel trailers, I wonder how they are doing this.

In fact I am concerned about pulling a 5 x 10 foot trailer with the Honda Foreman.

Really like the truck, glad I went with the TP

I drove a lifted and fully loaded Rubicon last weekend, nice interior and it looked awesome. It drove like I expected a jeep to drive, loose play in the steering wheel and it was all over the road drifting. I had several Dodge products in the past, they are ok IMO but keep an eye on that transmission around 90K, they are notorious for being junk. Enjoy your ride, more power to you.....but I will keep my Yota all the same.

2 or 4 door? Yes the JK wonders a bit and is more "rumbly" on the street. That's kind of what I wanted. The 5th gen drove more like a car, which is great for most people. I don't drive many miles and wanted something a little more extreme as my mid-life crisis ride. I take the kids to school, drive 10 miles to work, and that's about it minus the occasional trip to off-road. We have an outback for family outings/road trips. If this was our only vehicle, then the 4runner would make more sense. I do miss the power rear window.

I gotta say. You did the test drive. That's the bottom line. That's the proper way to buy a vehicle. I'm surprised at the amount of threads I've read about new owners complaining about too little power, emotional disappointment in the brakes, etc. As a long-term 4r owner-- props man. I hope you enjoy your new rig. If you were looking for something trail worthy out of the gate, you sure found it.

former owners have expressed disappointment in the current v6 before. While I'll admit it took some getting used to, there's some uumph once the pedal is down. my first reaction though-- sluggish.

It is a 4 door and a very sharp looking one at that with gray (with a hint of blue) with a color matching hard top. It is also the ones that come lifted per say with the larger wheels and tires.
I see your point for how you will use this vehicle, I get it. My T4R is my daily driver for now but eventually I will move to a commuter car with great gas mileage. I commute 50 miles to and from work and also drive most weekends to my camper site which is a 3.5 hour trip one way. That rough ride and wandering would basically make my driving habits hell. So for me, the T4R is good for my needs for now, until I mod the hell out of it, haha.
