Bed in Cab Addition

Been a while since I've been able to do anything to the steed. But I have made a few camp trips with the RTT, and am actually not that into it. Pain in the a$$ to get on, and pain to close up - also put a couple scratches in the paint which made me :wow2:

SO, Ive been researching options for an in-cab setup. Ive seen some really good ones, but most seem to really cramp the headroom (understandable, due to drawers under sleep platform - nothing against these, love the storage concept, but to do away with the tent, ya need some room :biggrin2: )

I ended up going with the seat removal option, with a finishing platform, and made some progress - not done yet. Ideally, (havent figured out how yet) this will hinge to open up space underneath, since there is a good amount there!

Finishing touches will include matching carpeting :blah: :blah: :blah:.
Let me know if you have any ideas to hinge this thing! I am mounting off of the stock seat mounts.

Yes please. I'm in the middle of building my sliders and what is hilarious is this is my first time seeing your thread and my sliders are almost identical.

I did cut outs for the front and rear fender saves because I wanted them sucked up as close to the rocker as possible.
Did you guys cap the ends or just leave them open?

Interior sleeping situation finished

Ended up not hinging for now, until I come up with a good idea of how to do this. Here are the finished pics!

Came out great! Adding carpeting to my resume :whoo:

Planning on putting an LED strip under for the storage under, and then going to figure out a pelican cutout that sits flush for camera gear. Also cupholders

Did you weld them straight to the frame or make them bolt on?

Thanks man! Yea i love the boatside too, not too noticeable but when you get up in there they are These are welded on and also to note, they are air tight, so when i get my compressor, these will be my tanks!

Ah, thanks for the nice comments! yea it was a fun setup, def get some looks since not many people fab them up. My buddy is solid at this stuff

sliders look great! Looks like a crap ton of welding and cutting with an angle grinder to get that look. Wife wants a set, i could build some like these, but not the tube ones since I don't have a bender. If someone throws a door open will it hit the sliders before hitting your body?

Here are some pics of the rack - everything is steel, so will be adding on to the straps etc in the future but not too much. Like the clean look - roof is dirty, gonna giver a bath today

Yea it was alot of cutting and welding, but it wasnt too bad.

These are tighter, but if its a sedan, yea itll hit the sliders first. But bigger cars, im still restricted to the corner spots, with a wheel on the curb :hunter:

Switch Pros Install

Install pics on the Switch Pros 8100

Deciding how to mount it with cardboard :thumb3:

Went with a slimmer design

Here you can see the standoff I bent for stability

And I just used a piece of aluminum corner bracket, drilled it in the proper place and bolted it in. This eliminated the need for all kinds of weird mounting brackets. Wanted to go as "stock" looking as I could, and it is super solid.

And voila! Bedlinered it, and got everything bolted on/wired/shrink wrapped. Really happy with how everything turned out - love that it is all flush to the fuse box. Let me know what you guys think! I will post pics of the switch install when I get home.

Also, thanks to [MENTION=149040]5280 TRail-Runner[/MENTION] for help on getting me plugged into the right fuse!
